The deep,dark and dauntless...

Night

I looked at the sun one last time,

And then waved goodbye,

Because I was to receive the night,

Dark and deep like his eyes!

Night came with some friends,

The moon and the stars,

And they brought along memories,

To keep me company in late hours!

The memories began their carnival,

And it left me in tears,

As before his arrival,

I was unaware of my fears!

So night invited a cool breeze,

She knew I loved its smell,

And put to sleep the sadness,

Which in me dwells!

But night stayed till dawn,

To ensure my happiness, after she was gone,

 I’m grateful to her, for the solace she brings,

She’s dear to me, more than material things!
