Whims and Fancies

Credible Surmises

Some souls love so deeply,

The curl of your happy lips stays longer,

They weave so intricate with your heartstrings,

Paradise: with them an evening saunter!

Some souls love so gently,

Unbeknownst, you change for the better,

On you intellect, scorched by judgment,

Their words: rain’s soothing patter!

Such souls love without expectations,

They find happiness in minutiae,

Their ebullience and elation,

Takes your breath away!

These souls are delicate yet battle scarred,

Seem to live in blissful ignorance,

But unknown to you, they hide inside,

A wave of longing and poignance!

Caress them not in folds of satin words,

Nor in bourgeois possessions,

Stay with them through skies pink and grey,

You’ll have, till death, their allegiance!
