Tracing Fault Lines

Cracks and Crevices

I remember the night,

The moon descended from the sky,

We quickened our steps,

To witness it passing by!

You knew I was all starry-eyed,

How I loved its flawless flaws,

It always taught me how,

Broken things deserve an applause!

Its radiance was your sheen,

It was faraway, but near, like you,

The moonlight that put me to sleep,

Gentleness, from you it drew!

That spectacle was just an excuse because,

When we stood in the silver night's hue,

You searched for flaws in your crevices,

But I was agape at the moonlight, shining through you!
